Help us find out how to make services more responsive!
We are looking to hear from two groups of people:
- young people with disability and young carers, aged 15 to 29
- people who work in policy or in disability, carer and youth services
Young people
We want to talk to young people with disability and young carers about how they define good listening, and whether they feel listened to by the organisations and services in their lives.
You can take part in a focus group (a relaxed group discussion) if you:
- are aged 15–29
- live in Australia
- have a disability or care for someone with disability (like a family member or friend)
If you prefer, you can choose to do a 1-on-1 interview instead.
We’ll send you an information sheet and answer any questions before you decide anything.
Focus group dates
Focus groups are held in a central city location. We’ll send you the address and time once you get in touch.

Focus groups will be held in every state and territory. Dates for Brisbane, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin will be posted here during 2027.
If you’re not in one of these cities, or the date doesn’t suit, you can still take part in a 1-on-1 interview online.

Policy and service professionals
We want to talk to policy and service professionals about how organisations can listen better to young people with disability and young carers.
You can participate in an interview if you:
- are at least 18 years old
- have at least 2 years’ work experience in disability, carer, and/or youth policy or services, within an Australian-based organisation (including both government and non-government organisations)
We will not ask you to share information about specific organisational activities.
